Revenant of love
So this is who you really are
and always were, you insist.
You also demand acceptance
and affection as
this, your true self.
All I see is the
body of the person
I loved, animated by
something or someone
so repulsive and unreal
that I can barely gaze upon you
without revulsion.
Go climb back in the
grave of our relationship and
haunt me no more.

ReplyDeleteGo climb back in the
ReplyDeletegrave of our relationship
That's one partnership that's dead an buried!
Sometimes we must confront our ghosts...
ReplyDeleteClever take on the prompt. Ghosts of our past often rise up to burden our souls... yet to bury them we must let them go completely.
