Homeless
Another night of
despair and fighting.
We do not have the
right words to
communicate with
each other and
so cannot
understand the
other's problems.
I wish I lived anywhere
but here
tonight, as home is
where the
heart is.
My heart has
no place
to live
here.

I found this moved me as my first thought when given the prompt of - home is where the heart is - was about home being a safe haven - and then you show the other side. A side I just simply had not thought of. Cheers, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteWow, quite powerful and revealing to me. I've been here before, I struggled with this when my mother and I moved out to California. In interesting way to start my morning, but in a good reflection way. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletePowerful, moving and sad.
ReplyDeleteI agree, powerful and, sad. Sometimes when you cannot find the words, all is soon lost, too.
ReplyDeleteA horrible situation to be in.

Depressing, but an important topic.

Heartwrenching and such a part of the landscape today.
ReplyDeleteThe words are beautifully tragic
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see that you have interpreted the prompt in this manner. Thanks for sharing your talents.
ReplyDeleteVery powerful...it certainly pulled me in.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad!
ReplyDeleteMy ABC is about the only http://www.meetourclan.com/2011/09/horse-ride.html I can tolerate.
Your muse opened a different door for you. What a fabulous write.
ReplyDeleteHow sad. And right after Labor Day, so close to 9/11. Poignant, but sad...seems to fit with the times though.
ReplyDeletelove it,
ReplyDeletevividly shown homelessness.
Sad one...homeless has a new meaning here...
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing this
Poet...Yes.
ReplyDeleteYou put this across in a way that speaks to anyone who has ever not been able to -
ReplyDelete"have the
right words to
communicate with
each other "
Nice writing.
Oh, discontent n' alone! You captured this feeling well~
ReplyDeleteHeart wrenchingly sad-
ReplyDelete'My heart has
no place
to live
here.'
This is powerfully expressed - the heart with no place to live, in a home of discord. I have most certainly been there, more than once. So well written. Keep writing - and may your heart soon find its place to live!
